Streetcar service in Los Angeles

During the early 20th century, Los Angeles was an entertainment center that offered a variety of shops and restaurants. Broadway, an entertainment district in the heart of the downtown area, was an attractive place to spend time.

The era of Broadway was a prosperous one. The shopping district was bustling with residents and businesses, and was a popular night spot. But in the early 1960s, the Los Angeles Streetcar came to an end. The Bringing Back Broadway initiative is working to bring a modern streetcar system back to the downtown area.

In the early 1900s, the Los Angeles Railway started operating intra-city streetcars. In addition to the Broadway line, they also operated 20 streetcar lines in Los Angeles. They connected neighborhoods in six miles around the city. They also served as locomotives for other cars. They could pull a single or two flat cars, and their power cars were used to move the LARy cars around the Vernon Yard.

Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum

Downtown Los Angeles is home to the Anschutz Entertainment Group headquarters, as well as the headquarters of Cathay Bank and BYD Company. The area is also home to the Los Angeles Railway Building. It was built in 1925. It later served as the headquarters of the Los Angeles Transit Line (LATL). It was subsequently used by the Regional Transit District (RTD).
