THOMAS CIGARRAN, Chairman of Nashville Predators ownership, is active with several local charities. He currently sits on both the Haiti Education Mission Board and Vanderbilt Owen School Healthcare MBA Advisory Boards as well as serving on Harpeth Hall School Board, Alive Hospice Board, and Mental Health Association of Middle Tennessee Board.

Tom Cigarran is co-founder, former chairman, president, and CEO of Healthways as well as Chairman & Director of AmSurg Corporation – an established provider of physician services to hospitals, surgery centers, and other healthcare facilities – and an advisor to Cressey & Company; two healthcare focused private equity firms.
Mark currently sits on the Board of Directors for Alignment Nashville and was previously part of its Operating and Advisory Boards; as well as Alive Hospice’s and Harpeth Hall School boards. A longtime Nashville resident, he holds both a BS from Villanova University and an MBA from New York University.
Professional Career
Cigarran has played a critical role in some of healthcare’s most recognizable companies, including Healthways and AmSurg. He also transformed small domestic entities into international enterprises operating in Germany, Brazil, and Puerto Rico.
His deep commitment to education led him to serve as Chairman of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and to found and become the Chairman of Alignment Nashville – an organization which coordinates activities of more than 150 non-profits and businesses supporting public education.
He purchased the Predators in 2007 from then-owner Craig Leipold and under his leadership ensured their continued presence in Nashville with Bridgestone Arena regularly ranking among the busiest arenas. Now Cigarran is taking a step back, while Herb Fritch assumes his former position of chairman.

In 2009, he led a group to purchase Nashville’s NHL franchise, the Nashville Predators. As Chairman and Owner, under his guidance they have won two division titles and reached Stanley Cup Finals once. His efforts in business and the community of Nashville have earned numerous awards and recognition; including being twice featured as part of Business Journal Power 100 lists for their impactful contribution to their city’s business scene.
Personal Life
Mr. and Connie Davison are passionate supporters of community organizations. Together they established the Community Foundation of Nashville and contribute generously to numerous local charities and educational institutions.
Craig Leipold had threatened to sell the Predators to an outside investor from Ontario; Cigarran convinced him instead to join a local ownership group and keep the team in Nashville. Cigarran served in this capacity until 2009 when he decided to step down due to behind-the-scenes drama.
Herb Fritch has served as team CEO since 2013. However, Cigarran still owns an important stake and signs off on major decisions as chairman.
