Selman was widely recognized in his field, earning numerous honors and awards such as President’s Scholarship and Dean’s Scholarship at Alcorn State University, while being inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Xi societies.
As editor of “Computer Complexity Retrospective II” and the Chicago Journal of Theoretical Computer Science”, he also served as an esteemed author and lecturer before being named a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery in 2001.
Steven Selman died peacefully on May 13, 2022 at ProMedica Ebeid Hospice Residence in Sylvania, Ohio at age 74. He leaves behind family and many friends to remember him fondly for his kindness and care for patients, colleagues and students alike.
