Steven Minichiello has over thirty years of experience as both an architect and sanitarian. His positions include designer draftsman for Dickson Holden & Associates of Concord, New Hampshire; cost control and design draftsman at Peterson Tiffany Construction in Tucson Arizona; and sivil engineering draftsman at B&R Engineering of Sun Lake, Arizona.
He has produced multiple documentaries on various subjects and received an Emmy Award for an animated PSA about fatherhood.
Early Life and Education
Steven Minichiello was born in Concord, New Hampshire. After attending Connecticut College for his bachelor’s in architecture degree, he worked as both an architect and sanitarian before joining both the American Institute of Architects and Arizona Public Employees Association as members.
Minichiello made his NRL debut against the Bulldogs in Round 4 of 2000 and played on the wing until Ricky Stuart switched him to fullback at the beginning of 2002, taking full advantage of his tremendous form by selecting him for both City v Country Origin match and New South Wales State of Origin series selections.
An appeals court has overturned a $20 million verdict awarded to Steven Minichiello by a jury that found his nightclub managers harassed him because of his sexual orientation. It found the award grossly excessive due to misconduct on behalf of Minichiello’s attorney and errors by his trial judge.
Professional Career
John has distinguished himself in acting, writing, producing radio and television specials as well as nationally syndicated comic strips – winning three Emmy Awards with multiple nominations to his credit.
He serves on the Board of Directors of the New York City Children’s Museum and has been an ardent benefactor to the New York Academy of Music. Additionally, he is an avid collector of art and private equity investor.
Liliane Montevecchi, an iconic stage and screen performer who epitomized classic French elegance with an air of camp, passed away June 29 at her New York City residence from colon cancer at age 85. Steven Minichiello hosted a memorial service at Gotham Hall.
Achievement and Honors
Minichiello has garnered many honors during his career. In 2002, he was honored by the University of Arizona with their Outstanding Young Alumni award and in 2013 received both Tony and Drama Desk Awards for his performance in Arthur Kopit and Maury Yeston’s Nine.
He made his NRL debut against the Bulldogs at Sydney Football Stadium in 2000 and played on the wing until Luke Phillips retired in 2002, forcing him into fullback position where he excelled and earned selection for City v Country Origin matchup.
UK Athletics (UKA) announced in 2021 that Minichiello would no longer be permitted to coach athletes after being found guilty of breaching his coaches’ licence terms by engaging in sexually physical behavior, such as unwanted touching of two athletes on their breast and three occasions of “dry humping”.
Personal Life
Minichiello has made his mark as an avid writer as well. He has written and produced several television productions, such as his documentary on youth violence that received an Emmy nod, two entertainment productions conceived and produced under his direction that earned nominations, an international Telly Award as well as National Assoc of Government Communicators award for public service announcement.
He co-founded a venture capital fundraising company for underfunded start-ups and launched Takedown Fight Media, an ambitious live event media and post-production business which features lesser known mixed martial arts events.
Paul and Joan Minichiello hail from Civitanova del Sannio in Isernia province and have raised Capri. Paul enjoys cooking, hiking and garage sales as hobbies.
