Steven Milam Will Play For LSU in the 2023 MLB Draft

Steven Milam has over three decades of experience serving in military and defense management capacities at both the Pentagon and SHAPE, including extended stays at both locations. Additionally, he has written extensively on US politics and defense.

Although several colleges offered scholarships, LSU Tigers program – with its recent success with major leaguers such as Kramer Robertson, DJ LaMahieu and Alex Bregman – was what ultimately won out.

Centennial High School senior Joseph Johnson plans to attend Louisiana State University and play baseball for their baseball team starting in 2023. He signed his National Letter of Intent when Paul Mainieri was head coach; this commitment remained even after Mainieri left and Jay Johnson took over as head coach.

Dr. Steven Milam, MD is an expert diagnostic radiologist in Greenville, South Carolina with over 37 years of experience. Currently he practices at Greenville Outpatient Radiology X-Ray and is affiliated with Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Professional Career

Steven Milam claims he was born with a full head of hair, earning him the moniker “Monster.” Now the shortstop on Centennial High School baseball team is living out every young player’s dream: He’s committed to LSU as one of its premier college programs and should become a top prospect in the 2023 MLB Draft.

Pro scouts have been attending his games and discussing signing with teams if it’s the right fit. He’s been working with former New Mexico State Aggie and Pittsburgh Pirates 2020 first round pick Nick Gonzales to develop his swing – he is a switch-hitting contact hitter with some pop, with good speed on his run, adept at third and second. He can even hit from both positions.

Milam is an attentive student and wakes early each day for gym workouts and online classes before attending practice from 4-6:30 p.m. He plans on enrolling at LSU for an extended period, hoping that playing professional baseball may become part of his future plans; former NMSU Aggie Nick Gonzales of Pittsburgh Pirates 2020 first round draft selection has provided assistance and coaches him at offseason workouts.

Milam is an avid reader who always keeps a book handy. He finds pleasure in learning, and particularly enjoys books by authors such as Hemingway, Tolkien and Martin. In his free time he enjoys traveling and devouring delicious cuisine – though his primary residence lies in Austin Texas with his beautiful wife.
