Steven Crum – A Physician Who Treats Patients With Urinary Tract Infection

Early Life and Education

Steven Crum hails from the Western Shoshone tribe and was raised on various reservations across America. As a Ford Foundation post-doctoral fellow he is working on writing a book about Native American higher education history.

He served one term in 2016 as a Democratic member of the Kansas House of Representatives for District 98.

His compositions often feature striking sonorities created through whispering, hissing, tongue clicking and shouting at particular points within the piece. Furthermore, electronic instruments provide additional sonic effects.

He is one of the founding members of Degoniwida-Quetzalcoatl University (D-Q University), established in 1971 in California. He is widely credited with having had an impactful role in shaping Native American studies programs at universities around the United States.

Professional Career

Crum has enjoyed an extensive coaching career. Starting out as John Wooden’s assistant coach at UCLA, he rose through the ranks at Louisville to become a powerhouse which made six NCAA Final Four appearances over thirty years.

Crum currently oversees a team of assistant directors and coaches at Crossfire Premier Soccer; he has held this role for six months.

As soon as he takes over Cathedral City Police on December 10, Crum will introduce new levels of transparency and accountability, along with plans for creating a Homeless Liaison Team and Chief’s Advisory Council to foster civilian involvement while increasing trust between city residents and law enforcement officers.

Achievement and Honors

One of Crum’s innovative coaching strategies was scheduling challenging non-conference matchups early in the season to prepare his teams for NCAA tournament competition, where even one loss could end their season.

Crum was known for his 2-2-1 zone press defense and emphasis on high post play, earning his teams the moniker “Doctors of Dunk.”

In 2021, Scott Haws was honored by Walsh University Alumni Association with the Outstanding Alumnus Award, honoring alumni for both professional achievements and community service. Scott currently works as Director of Project Management for Crum & Forster Pet Insurance Group as well as serving on their Plain Township Trustee board and Aultman Orrville Hospital’s Facilities Committee as Chairman.

Personal Life

Crum is an emeritus professor at the University of California, Davis and a Western Shoshone tribal member, having published many articles such as his seminal work entitled “The Road on Which We Came: A History of the Western Shoshone”. Additionally, he served as an assistant professor at California State University Chico.

He and his wife reside in Haysville, where he teaches at Nelson Elementary School and coaches Campus High swimming team. Since 2001 he has also served on Haysville City Council.

In addition, MyHeritage users have identified several distant relatives – such as late actor George Speck who was of Mohawk and African American heritage – in his family tree.

Crum’s life has been an extraordinary testament to passion and perseverance. His commitment to giving back to the community has won over many hearts, while his journey has left an indelible imprint on basketball as a sport.

He took inspiration from some of the greatest American coaches before him and implemented their techniques into his own unique coaching style. His innovative strategies and ability to inspire his players made him stand out amongst his peers.

Since 2017, Dr. Daniel Strickland has served in the Kentucky House of Representatives, representing District 98. Additionally, he works as a family physician at Capital Medical Group in Frankfort.
