Steve McCracken – A Biography
McCracken appeared 41 times for the club during his inaugural year before being sold off to Milton Keynes Dons in June 2009.
He dedicated much of his time and dedication to Lowe-Volk Nature Park, dam modification efforts, thorium removal education programs and public relations in this community. We thank him for all he has done for the area!
Early Life and Education
Steve McCracken graduated from Plymouth-Carver High School in Plymouth before going on to play state college basketball, winning the state title with Indiana University. Additionally, in his spare time he enjoyed camping and playing cards with friends while collecting John Deere tractors and HO model trains as he also was an avid supporter of Indiana basketball.
Early on, he came to understand the significance of communication with the public regarding what was going on at a site where radioactive material had been dumped, covered or dumped out at Busch Stadium levels. Without this understanding, nothing would work as it should have.
One of his many achievements was creating the eight-mile Haul Road, providing trucks transporting debris from Oak Ridge to disposal sites with a direct route without using commercial roads through town – speeding up EM cleanup immensely.
Bob McCracken is an esteemed jazz clarinetist who played alongside Louis Armstrong and other jazz luminaries. Additionally, his grandson has proven his artistic chops as a painter; his works have been displayed worldwide.
McCracken spent much of the 1990s playing for English League One side Brentford before signing a two-year contract with Scottish Premier League club Dundee United.
He has over 22 years of banking experience providing services to high net worth individuals, their families, and charitable organizations. Currently residing in Summerlin with his wife and daughter. A keen follower of the Vegas Golden Knights as well as avid golfer.
He has assisted several DOE cleanup projects and is widely recognized for helping Oak Ridge to complete Hanford’s K East Reactor removal four years ahead of schedule, saving taxpayers $500 million. In 2021, ETEC presented him with their Postma Young Professional Medal as recognition.
Achievement and Honors
Singer-songwriter Kevin Moroney has earned widespread acclaim as an effective citizen legislator, serving the constituents of Frankfort without forgetting those back home. He ardently advocates for conservative values shared by West Kentucky residents such as supporting the Second Amendment and protecting human life.
As well as playing for Scotland under-21s, he made five appearances with Dundee United before leaving to play Football League clubs Wycombe Wanderers and Milton Keynes Dons (England) as well as one season with Falkirk (Scotland). Known for his fierce competitions that can both excite and surprise spectators.
At an awards ceremony earlier this month, East Tennessee Economic Council honored McCracken with the Muddy Boot Award for his efforts on Oak Ridge’s eight-mile Haul Road that allowed DOE cleanup workers direct access to landfills while simultaneously saving costs and making Oak Ridge safer.
Steve McCracken is an avid sports fan and supporter of UNLV Golden Knights. A speaker and evangelist, Steve believes in God’s word being powerfully transformative for individuals’ lives, which is why he travels around to share his message and encourage people to have an unshakeable faith that cannot be shaken off.
McCracken enjoys spending his personal time hiking and camping with his family, playing cards, watching Indiana University basketball and collecting John Deere and HO model train models. Additionally, he is deeply invested in his children’s athletic activities as well as spending quality time with friends; additionally he volunteers his services for his church community and serves others through volunteering his time.
McCracken remains a very private individual and it remains unknown as to his exact net worth; however, having trained two of the world’s premier professional heavyweights must surely add significantly to his fortune. Carl Froch was his primary pupil; under McCracken’s tutelage he won multiple world titles during an impressive career which ended with two epic encounters against George Groves.
