Oliver Eberth had two spectacular touchdown throws and made one major defensive play on Saturday to lead No. 3 St. John’s Prep past Central Catholic, 22-16, in Lawrence.

Early Life and Education
Oliver, an orphan living in an 1830s England workhouse (“Food, Glorious Food”) is bullied by other boys for asking for more gruel; after fleeing his residence and being seen by Bill Sikes – an undertaker’s brutish henchman – Bill takes him back to his den where he trains Oliver as a pickpocket.
Oliver escapes prison and meets Artful Dodger, who takes him under his wing (“Consider Yourself”). They are followed by Mr. Brownlow and Nancy – two people who criticize Oliver’s low-class lifestyle and mock it openly.
Although Oliver & Company may not be one of Disney’s more well-known animated movies, it has garnered an avid following over time. Boasting an exceptional cast including Joey Lawrence, Billy Joel and Cheech Marin – Oliver fans should make time for this must-see animated flick!
Professional Career
While All-Scholastic wideout Owen Rockett and running back Jake Burt remain sidelined, two-time Boston Herald All-Scholastic quarterback Oliver Eberth has taken on more responsibility this season and stepped up to deliver. He has impressed both coaches and opponents.
At 16-7 with 8:46 remaining in regulation time, St. John’s Prep trailed 16-7 but experienced an incredible comeback thanks to Eberth. On his fourth pass of the half, Eberth connected with junior Hayden Rockett (Owen’s brother). Hayden advanced 39 yards to Central’s 43 before senior Jack Lambert scored on an end zone run – creating an unlikely comeback to take a 22-16 advantage for St. John’s Prep.
Ebert joined Immatics Biotechnologies GmbH’s Clinical Development department in November 2021 as a board-certified internist and gastroenterologist, with extensive clinical and scientific experience in inflammation and oncology. His publications include over 40 peer-reviewed manuscripts as well as numerous research grants; in addition he serves as adjunct professor of medicine at the Klinikum rechts der Isar der Technischen Universitaet Munchen.
Achievement and Honors
Oliver Eberth, who recently signed with Amherst University and earned two Boston Herald All-Scholastic selections, has proved that he can succeed without top targets like Owen Rockett and Jake Burt. On Saturday night in St. John’s Prep’s 22-16 win against Central Catholic at Veterans Memorial Stadium, Eberth made two key touchdown throws that contributed to victory for their opponent.
Eberth (15 of 21, 155 yards, two touchdowns) dumped one off to junior Hayden Rockett near the left sideline and watched as the 6-foot-2, 185-pounder dodged defenders before sprinting 54 yards to score the go-ahead touchdown.
Molly spent most of her freshman season rowing the 1V4 for Women of Troy. At NCAA Championships she helped them place 12th nationally; additionally she competed at Club Nationals with their second varsity eight.
Personal Life
Oliver Ebert is a physician in Immatics Biotechnologies GmbH’s Clinical Development department. With extensive knowledge in gastrointestinal oncology and inflammation, as well as peer-reviewed publications. Oliver also enjoys various hobbies including IDPA shooting, wood working, 4-wheeling and kayaking.
It was an immense undertaking, involving 84 boys aged 8-15 cast. Filmed on six sound stages over six months, and won one of the last Best Picture musical awards before its popularity faded away; yet, many still consider it charming and remember Ron Moody as Fagin fondly.
