Early Life and Education
Duke is an arrogant, materialistic individual with a sharp sense of humor who tends to care more for himself than for other people – though he does care deeply for his family and Cooper Bradford is one of his closest allies.
Harvey came to Duke with an established understanding of civil and workers’ rights influenced by years of low-wage work (maid, janitor). Many students shared his viewpoints; one was Harry Boyte who co-founded Friends of Local 77 with Harvey.
His greatest triumphs include the defeat of river blindness, one of tropical Africa’s greatest health burdens. Through the Mectizan Donation Programme he established public/private partnerships that have proven highly successful at combatting diseases like AIDS and malaria.
Oliver is an elite lawyer, working closely with high net worth clients on their investment and financing needs, managing wealth and safeguarding assets. As part of a firm that specialises in private equity investments and cross-border M&A he also focuses on private equity investments and M&A transactions.

Oliver hails from Murphy, North Carolina where she excelled academically and athletically as an outstanding student-athlete, earning varsity letters in basketball, discus, soccer, cross country running and softball. At Elon University where she served as an assistant women’s basketball coach she helped them reach the Postseason WNIT twice within four years – helping reach both tournament finals twice over.
Oliver received the Wiliam C. Rippe Award for Distinguished Research in Lung Cancer to support her laboratory’s investigation of MYC gene alteration that drives small cell lung cancer tumor growth and spread. Her work could eventually lead to more effective therapies for LCLC patients.
Harvey Oliver Duke has finished his race with grace and courage and now stands tall amongst the stars in heaven. He leaves behind his wife Susan, brother Calvin Duke, five daughters, as well as many cherished friends and family members who miss him greatly.
