Early Life and Education

Myra Janco Daniels of Gary, Indiana was raised during the Great Depression by parents who fostered her artistic endeavors and encouraged her to study art at Indiana State University where she eventually earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

Daniels began her career as a contract actress for Wicked Pictures, one of the leading adult film studios. Since then she has appeared in over 100 films. Additionally she wrote and directed Unbridled about equestrian competitions incorporating her passion for horses into this feature film project.

As governor, she made land conservation a top priority and set aside record acreages for preservation. In addition to serving on several non-profit boards and co-chairing the Council on Foreign Relations taskforce on global epidemics, she also co-founded the Board on Higher Education.

Professional Career

She serves on multiple boards that reflect her vision and passion for helping children, women, and interfaith issues; these include Princeton Girl Choir, Princeton University Mizaan Retreat and Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom Sisterhoods of Salaam Shalom; she also sits on the Advisory Board for Harriet Speaks.

Daniels spends her free time reading and taking photographs of birds. Additionally, she is an active supporter of racial equity and utilizes her experience in marketing, communications and law to bring a multidisciplinary approach to her work. Daniels has one son named Dyson who currently plays basketball for the New Orleans Pelicans; he was selected eighth overall during their draft in 2022.

Daniels has made his mark as an actor with roles such as Aaron Sorkin’s “The Newsroom” and To Kill A Mockingbird stage adaptation which have brought fame and increased his net worth exponentially.

She has made numerous cameo appearances in mainstream movies like The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Pineapple Express; additionally she appeared in several television series like CSI: NY and Rizzoli & Isles.

Her most notable role to date has been as Dana Fairbanks on Showtime series “The L Word”, for which she won numerous awards and nominations. Additionally, she earned an AVN award as a director and has an impressive filmography to show for it.
