Kaleb Thomas Wants to Be a Big Player at Iowa

Kaleb Thomas began throwing baseballs before he could even walk. Today, as an Okeechobee High School senior living on Brighton Reservation in Florida, Kaleb dedicates much of his free time there working out and practicing his art form.

He possesses an outstanding work ethic and serves as a positive role model for children, volunteering his services at youth programs to demonstrate skills and motivate the participants.

Early Life and Education

Kaleb has worked tirelessly to overcome his physical limitations through determination and hard work both during therapy sessions and outside. His perseverance and strong will to live life to its fullest extent has enabled him to accomplish amazing things at such a young age.

His dedication to his education is clear as he maintains an impressive 3.25 average across all classes, including Advanced Placement History and Honors Chemistry. Furthermore, he’s been active with Torch Club, Keystone Club, soccer teams and various programs at his local Boys & Girls Club; participating in these has allowed him to build leadership abilities as well as a sense of community service.

Kaleb enjoys helping out on his family farm when not attending school, performing tasks like mowing the lawn and collecting leaves as well as watering plants. Additionally, he serves as a mentor for younger children by showing off basketball and baseball skills at youth centers or summer camps.

Professional Career

Thomas has developed an exceptional work ethic which has propelled him forward. In addition to investing much of his time at the gym and being an outstanding student who graduated as an Ontario Scholar this year, Thomas plans on attending Missouri State University next fall with a baseball scholarship.

He began as a shortstop before transitioning to pitching last year and was named Rookie of the Year and part of a team which captured a county championship title.

Thomas currently attends Clarks Summit University, located in northeast Pennsylvania about two-hours drive from both New York City and Philadelphia, as a freshman outfielder and pitcher. She has already made five appearances this season for their Phantoms team.

Achievement and Honors

Kaleb has volunteered in Wake Forest Boys and Girls Club’s Torch Club, Keystone Club and several other programs since September 2013. Working one-on-one with kids playing sports to develop their skills and build confidence is one of his responsibilities; additionally he assists with recreation basketball programs and summer camps.

He has twice been honored with CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District honors, and twice earned First-Team CoSIDA Academic All-America status. Additionally, he was selected for OAC Academic All-OAC status this season before being named an OAC Baseball All-Star this spring.

At high school, he earned four-year letterwinner status on both football and baseball teams; helping lead his football squad to the 5A Texas State Championship and earning First Team All-District, Honorable Mention All-State, and Academic All-State honors along the way.

Personal Life

Kaleb Thomas is an enthusiastic angler, swimmer, and outdoor enthusiast who takes great pleasure in all that the great outdoors offers him. An amazingly dedicated student who works tirelessly towards academic success, Kaleb also serves as an inspirational role model to younger children in his community and is eager to give back whenever he can.

He is currently one of Canada’s Junior National Team’s top prospects and plans to attend Missouri State University next fall on a baseball scholarship. Since he was two, he has been playing.

Caleb Thomas holds a silver Ontario baseball medal and participated in Game Day USA program, lending his voice for various video games such as Life is Strange: Before the Storm. Furthermore, Caleb Thomas serves as wedding event painter – creating one-of-a-kind artworks to be treasured forever by clients!
