Early Life and Education
The early years are critical for a child’s development. They form a solid foundation on which all learning, behavior and health will depend.
Throughout the years, many great minds have made significant contributions to early childhood education. These include renowned psychologist Erikson, who believed that children go through different psychosocial stages at certain points in their life.
This means that educators should be able to provide the right level of support for each child at every stage in their life. This can be done through play, socialization and more.
UNESCO believes that early childhood education is one of the best investments a country can make to promote holistic development, gender equality and social cohesion. This is based on research that shows how early experiences affect brain development, mental and emotional well-being and ultimately lifelong outcomes.
