John Malletta – Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

John Malletta is an esteemed oral and maxillofacial surgeon who specializes in treating disorders of the mouth, jaws and face. He can address wisdom teeth issues, cleft palate issues and reconstructive surgery after injury as needed.

He was born in Shelby, Montana and beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He will be sorely missed by many friends and family members.

Early Life and Education

John Malletta was born on September 12, 1940 in Shelby, Montana to John and Shirley Malletta. After graduating high school, he continued his education by attending the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science. Upon completion of the college, John moved to Missoula where he began working as a funeral director before eventually purchasing several funeral homes and cemeteries throughout Montana and Idaho.

He was deeply committed to his family, always smiling with a wide grin on his face. Survived by his wife Dolores; son John and his wife Holly; daughter Angela Malletta-Lance and her husband Harold; sister Angela Malletta; brothers Joe and Joe E. Malletta; niece Isabella and nephew Trey of Plymouth MN; plus many cousins and extended family members, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Achievements and Honors

John Malletta, a native of Shelby, Montana and experienced businessman, thrived on strong family ties. He relished his role as an affectionate husband, father and grandfather.

He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and donated his time to numerous charities. Most importantly, he enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports activities.

John enjoyed spending his free time outdoors and with friends and family. He was an avid reader and appreciated a good laugh.

He was the proud owner of several funeral homes throughout Montana, Idaho and Washington. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be sorely missed. On Sunday, January 10th from 2 – 3 PM at St. Henry’s Catholic Church (6696 Springboro Pike Dayton Ohio 45449), those who wish to remember him may visit from 2 – 3 PM followed by a memorial mass at 3PM with Fr. Kevin O’Toole officiating.

Personal Life

John was a beloved husband to Dolores, father to five, entrepreneur in the funeral industry and passionate golfer – even before it became trendy to play it! John enjoyed playing this beloved game with great affection and zest long before it became widely accepted as part of society.

Toward the end of his life, John sold off his shares in funeral homes and cemeteries of his illustrious predecessors and relocated to Hidden Springs in Idaho where he could enjoy the benefits of a smaller town compared to a large city. It proved an advantageous move. Aside from golfing, John also enjoyed spending time with his seven adoring grandkids. As an active member of Polson Country Club, John enjoyed playing his beloved sport. Survived by his loving wife of 50 years; numerous daughters and their partners; numerous cousins; plus lots of electronic gadgets he collected over time.
