John Kostrey is a retired DeKalb pediatrician renowned for his service to the community. He served as board member and president of Kishwaukee Hospital Medical Society and received an Acclaimed Physician award from the American Association for Pediatrics. When not working in medicine, John enjoys volunteering with his wife on mission trips around the world to provide medical care to children in hospitals and orphanages.

He enjoys hunting small game with his Beagles in his free time, as well as watching movies and listening to music. His collection of classic cars includes a 1963 Plymouth Belvedere. Additionally, he owns a dog named Bella and often smokes a pipe while watching television.
