John Hollenbach

John Hollenbach is a well-known businessman in Reading and an accomplished builder of residences. A dedicated member of the Democratic party for many years, he is widely considered one of Berks County’s leading men.

He was born in Tilden township on November 26, 1864 to Nicholas and Annabella (Miller) Hollenbach.

John Hollenbach is the Managing Partner of Hollenbach-Oakley and oversees some of Louisville’s premier commercial developments, such as Blankenbaker Crossings Business Park, Eastpoint Business Center, Blankenbaker Station Business Park, Oldham Reserve and River Ridge Gateway Office Park.

John has excelled in both real estate and philanthropy, earning him a place on our Power 50 list of influential leaders from the local business community. Through his contributions, John’s success has earned him recognition among others for his generosity and success within the community.

Achievements and Honors

Hollenbach has served Perkasie as a councilman, city council president and mayor for more than 12 years, making him the longest serving mayor in its history.

Hollenbach was appointed by the city council in 2009 to replace former Perkasie Mayor John Hunsicker and went on to win unopposed elections for mayor in 2013 and 2017.

He was honored by the Louisville March of Dimes with their Commercial Real Estate Achievement Award (REACH). These awards honor professionals for their success in commercial real estate and philanthropic activities within their community.

On November 21, Archbishop Joseph Kurtz blessed and officially named Trinity’s renovated Hollenbach Family Alumni Courtyard. He presented a plaque in appreciation of the donation made by the Hollenbach family.

Personal Life

John Hollenbach has had a distinguished career. He was previously CEO of Doe & Ingalls, an innovative chemical company manufacturing organometallic and fine chemicals for life science and material science applications. Additionally, John has served on the boards of several companies and currently advises Cemalt LLC – a sustainable cement producer.

He loves spending time with family and friends, reading, listening to music, and cross-country skiing. In his free moments he enjoys reading books and listening to audiobooks.

Hollenbach was born in Ontelaunee township, Berks county near Leesport. A Lutheran, he holds memberships in both the Knights of Malta and a Lutheran church.
