J. Daniel Luther is an Associate Program Director with the Rhodes Trust at Oxford and co-founder of Queer Asia – an international platform and network dedicated to queer culture. They completed their doctoral research at LSE’s Department of Gender Studies as part of their PhD, while serving as Visiting Research Associate with Queer@King’s at King’s College London.
Early Life and Education
Dan was the beloved husband and father to Therese and Carl Vincent Luther as well as Nicole Sandra Anne Luther. Additionally he leaves behind sisters Kathye Hearn, Tracy DuMars and Jody Ellis as well as brothers-in-law Vince Gionta and Matthew, sister-in-law Maryanne as well as nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
He is a Teaching Fellow in Gender Studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), as well as co-founder of Queer Asia. Their work focuses on South Asian public culture including cinema, literature, new media and social media; their research investigates gender decolonisation sexuality relationships while their doctoral thesis was completed at SOAS University of London. Professional Career
Daniel is a GRAMMY-nominated musician and ukulele educator who has performed across the U.S., Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Brunei and Thailand as part of tours he’s led; guest lectured at U.S Embassies; recorded five albums; guest-lectured at US Embassies; guest-lectured at U.S Embassies; recorded nine music books authored nine albums recorded with Romero Creations Ukuleles as part of these tours YAMAHA artist/instructor programs he endorses them both with high marks given for excellence!
On Luther, he plays Sugarman – an American criminal known for armed robbery and murder – who appears in episode one episode five to help steal James Carrodus’ jewelry and rings from their home.
He is survived by his wife Therese, children and grandchildren; donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Therese Luther 8 Wayside Circle Pittsford New York 14534 for their education. In lieu of flowers donations to his memory would be much appreciated. Unfortunately his parents and brother predeceased him.
Achievement and Honors
In 1530 he found himself embroiled in political debate as the Diet at Augsburg attempted to reconcile Catholic and reformist positions. This time around he chose his gifted younger protege Philip Melanchthon to represent him and represent their position.
Luther argued against indulgences and councils’ authority in On Councils and the Church, as well as defending his translation practice against critics in On Translating: An Open Letter.
Significantly, this period witnessed the establishment of a theology of work which continues to resonate today. Luther made waves by challenging traditional distinctions between sacred and secular labor; his view being that all labor serves humanity while pleasing God equally as much.

Unfortunately, Daniel passed away unexpectedly last week in a head-on car crash on his way home from work and will be sorely missed by all.
Acclaimed expert on gender, sexuality and decoloniality, Dr. Lazlo recently completed his doctoral research at SOAS University of London. In his current position he serves as teaching fellow for Gender Studies; visiting research associate at Queer@King’s; co-founder of international platform and network “Queer” Asia as well as co-editing its book: Decolonising and Reimagining Sexualities and Genders.

Sugarman is an American criminal with a lengthy criminal history, including charges of armed robbery, kidnapping, and more than one murder convictions on his record.
