Bradford’s account of events remains highly disputed. One officer at the scene testified that he witnessed him running across the street to collect the ransom package, returning to his car, throwing it in, and continuing down the road. Meanwhile, Detective Sirk claimed to have hit him with his vehicle, leading Bradford to collapse under its right front wheel before falling over dead. Both versions of events have been thoroughly disproven by eyewitness accounts of events.
