Henri must reconsider his life when his complacent wife Rita passes away, prompting a beautiful butterfly to enter and introduce him to another way of living.

This estate was established in 1885, located between Puligny-Montrachet and Volnay in the Cotes de Beaune. Henri passed his vineyards onto his son Pierre who took advantage of their father’s expertise to manage them successfully.

Henri Boillot wines are highly-regarded examples of their appellations, distinguished by a strong emphasis on transparency and authentic terroir. Henri’s focus lies on sustainable vineyard management and low yields to achieve optimal ripeness, using larger 350L barrels, ageing wines in their cuve, and forgoing battonage to keep his wines pure and unaltered.

Henri Boillot is a fifth-generation vigneron who began his wine education at his family estate before departing to open his own mini negociant house. Later he took over ownership of both properties; nowadays his wines are considered amongst the best from Cote de Beaune region.

He is best-known for his white wines sourced from various Premier and Grand Cru vineyards in Meursault and Puligny Montrachet, while his red wines come from premier cru vineyards in Cote de Beaune and Volnay.

Henri’s wines are highly sought-after and often sell out rapidly. Henri is well respected among wine collectors and his wines have even been highlighted in publications by legendary wine critic Allen Meadows.

Henri Boillot currently owns and operates his grandfather’s Domaine founded by him, becoming its fifth generation winemaker with Guillaume as his help. Together, they produce white wines such as Clos de la Mouchere monopole as well as reds.
