George Santayana, a Spanish-born American philosopher, was one of the most significant thinkers in 20th century philosophy. His philosophy emphasizes an inspiring harmony between spirit and nature.

As Madison’s Santa, he brings joy to thousands of children each year and makes many parents smile as well.

Early Life and Education

George was born in New York City to immigrants who worked as lumberjacks, road builders and painters. Although he attended Horace Mann School for his freshman year, his parents’ financial situation forced him to drop out before graduation.

He eventually earned a high-school equivalency diploma from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and also attended some online improv classes in North Carolina to learn how to craft stories effectively.

As Santa, George has performed at numerous events, spreading joy to children in need. Additionally, he volunteers at his local animal shelter as a volunteer.

Professional Career

George Santa’s professional career was dedicated to serving his community and making a positive difference in people’s lives. A graduate of Stratford High School, he served his country with two tours in the United States Marine Corps.

He played semi-professional football with the Stratford Rockets and guided his family’s business, Santa Energy, through 30 years of growth before retiring as Director Emeritus. Additionally, he was a member of the Independent Connecticut Petroleum Association, New England Fuel Institute, Bridgeport Area Foundation, Bridgeport Regional Business Council, United Way of Eastern Fairfield County and Knights of Columbus.

He also posed for pictures with children and appeared on television as Santa-in-Residence on Paul Shannon’s Adventure Time. His smile, fine tenor voice and sincere twinkle in his eyes evoked Christmas spirit to millions of children around the world.

Achievements and Honors

George Santa was one of the last contracted stars with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios. With his eye-catching appeal, MGM wasted no time in casting him in films – beginning with Crime and Punishment, USA (1959).

He has earned several prestigious awards for his acting abilities, including a Golden Globe for “Most Promising Newcomer” and BAFTA nomination for “Best Foreign Actor.” Additionally, he’s an active member of the International Film Society.

While a graduate student, he was an active member of Beta Beta Beta – an honor and professional society for students in life sciences. Additionally, he served as associate editor for Decision Sciences Journal and earned multiple Santa Clara University Dean’s Awards for outstanding service. Furthermore, he was recently inducted into the Santa Clara University Faculty Council.

Santa Clause had long been a fantasy character, only accessible in children’s imaginations. But in 1949, he made his physical appearance just 13 miles from Lake Placid.

George Heid was a beloved figure in Pittsburgh and beyond, known for taking children on adventures and making them laugh.

Heid traveled the country as Santa Clause and was featured on Paul Shannon’s “Adventure Time” for many years.
