Early Life and Education

Faye Thomas was born May 4, 1933 in High Point to Lyndon Casey and Vallie Coates Lassiter Thomas and graduated from Allen Jay High School before working as a clerk at Sakowitz Department Store in Houston.

She then moved on to film work and garnered many roles as an actress – beginning her career with silent films before transitioning into sound films.

She was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many. She leaves behind Stephen Brown – her common-law husband of 20 years; sons Skye Thomas, Kiara Thomas and Xander Brown as well as daughters Autumn Bridges and Michelle Bridges who she adopted; adopted sisters Sheila Littleghost and Norma BuckElk; as well as many grandchildren – whom she served with on Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church’s Decorating Committee.

Professional Career

Faye Thomas is a freelance photographer specialising in editorial portraiture, fashion photography and actors’ headshots, with specialising in London (mostly) and Los Angeles. Her work has been published by various magazines including TATLER (october 2013 cover), VANITY FAIR, THE GUARDIAN PARIS MATCH THE TIMES LOOKS magazine among many more.

Thomas has also made her mark as a community and civic activist outside acting, holding board membership at two Fortune 500 companies as well as serving on many educational institutions boards. Additionally, during her term as President of University of Detroit Mercy she created partnerships where academic pursuits met community needs through urban partnerships.

Personal Life

Since 2019, she and Kieran Bew have been in a relationship, appearing to have formed a stable family unit. Though details about their wedding remain scarce, it’s clear they share a deep affection.

Faye found great satisfaction in being at the center of her large family, particularly among her adoring grandchildren.

Faye Thomas enjoyed working the United Methodist Women fall bazaar and traveling with the Golden Adventurers whenever they went on trips.
