David Wick is a member of Spencer Stuart’s Social Impact Practice in Washington, D.C. He oversees their Education Technology initiative and assists national K-12 organizations and higher education institutions with leadership transitions.
He boasts extensive international experience as an advisor, director of study abroad programs, and teacher. Additionally, he has 10 years of expertise in the private sector as a project manager and account executive.
Early Life and Education
David Wick is an internationally renowned international education expert with nearly three decades of experience leading study abroad initiatives. His areas of expertise include global learning, diversity and social justice as they relate to international education policy and practice.
David is a faculty member and chair of Middlebury’s International Education Management Program. He teaches graduate courses on educational equity and social justice, student learning and development, program design and assessment, among other topics. Furthermore, David serves as Faculty Director for Fellowships where he provides advice to students regarding CLS opportunities as well as other fellowship and scholarship opportunities.
Wick’s professional work has also seen him serve as a regional leadership team member and NASFA Region III board member for the Association of International Educators; he’s also been an advisor to both Forum on Education Abroad’s Quality Improvement Peer Review Group and Institute for Study Abroad’s Inclusive Excellence Advisory Group, as well as Diversity Abroad’s Knowledge Community.

David Wick is an expert in education technology. He has helped educators and students around the world to enhance their instruction and learning with digital tools.
He is passionate about working with teachers and students across international communities of practice and personal learning networks. To this end, he has designed and implemented learning spaces, edtech coaching services, as well as online and hybrid courses for educators.
He has been active in education for more than two decades. Currently, he serves as a consultant to Spencer Stuart out of their Washington, DC office where his duties include leadership recruitment assignments, board placements and organizational culture assessments for nonprofit and healthcare organizations. Furthermore, he supports searches for leaders across philanthropy/impact investing, K-12/higher education/fundraising efforts as well as education technology initiatives.
Achievements and Honors
David Wick, a native of Puerto Rico, didn’t speak English when he joined the Army. But he worked hard and learned it, eventually becoming a senior leader at Fort Bliss.
He now commands the 3rd Squadron, 6th Cavalry Regiment with 1st Armored Division Combat Aviation Brigade. The squadron consists of around 500 soldiers.
Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards and decorations for his accomplishments. Additionally, he has mentored a number of students.

David Wick was a renowned figure in the Hollywood industry, best known for his roles in “John Wick” and “John Wick: Chapter 4,” among other movies.
He also works as a counselor. Currently, he practices at New Insights Psychological Services LLC in Chicago, Illinois.
In his personal life, he married Jurene in 1979 and they have two children.
He had several affairs and left his wife and children in 1988. Additionally, he had an affair with half-brother Ian Beale’s (Michelle Collins) wife Cindy.
