David Hashmall is currently Chairman of Goodwin Procter, a top Global 50 firm. In this role, he oversees the company’s overall strategy and growth plan, client relations management and external communications efforts.
He founded and led the firm’s Diversity, Equity + Inclusion Committee during his tenure as Chairman, using his position to foster greater diversity within Goodwin and within the legal community at large.
Early Life and Education
David Hashmall earned a variety of educational credentials throughout his life. He attended fundamental school, prekindergarten, and secondary school before earning a bachelor’s degree from university.
He later co-founded Morris Air, a discount airline company. Additionally, he holds a master’s degree in business administration.

Hashmall is a certified specialist in appellate law with more than 35 years of experience litigating complex commercial disputes at both trial and appeals levels, with an emphasis on Hatch-Waxman litigation. In addition to his trial and appellate work, he serves as arbitrator and neutral for both International Court of Arbitration and American Arbitration Association panels.
