David Absher has been a successful professional in the engineering and architectural fields for more than three decades. His expertise and insight have allowed his firm, Benham Companies, to flourish and expand.

The firm has recently expanded into multiple cities throughout the nation and opened a branch in Oklahoma City. Notable executives within the organization include Jeff Napoliello, Brad Ezell and David Absher.

Early Life and Education

David Absher was born on July 1, 1973 in Wilmington, Illinois and graduated from Wilmington High School in 2000. For many years he has worked in the transportation industry.

He enjoys reading, gardening and listening to music; his favorite bands include Tool, Mudvayne, Afi and Metallica.

He is an avid fan of 50 Cent, The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd. He has a large family and circle of friends as well as his beloved dog Lucky. At present he’s working on setting up a scholarship fund for his parents; additionally he plans on traveling to India soon which he looks forward to immensely. Truly an inspiring individual; he makes an excellent father, brother and uncle!

Achievement and Honors

At Westminster College’s annual awards convocation, several notable alumni were recognized. Frank Absher ’69 KA was the most notable award recipient for his contributions to design-build engineering, such as the Toyota Port of Long Beach TriGen power and hydrogen system which recently received recognition by Green Building Council as being among the most sustainable large industrial facilities in America. Additionally, this engineering feat received one of Toyota Motor Corporation’s most awarded patents ever: three patents covering hydrogen generation, fuel cell electric econoboxes and power transmission technologies.

Personal Life

David Absher was born on October 7, 1930 to George Absher and Mollie Absher.

On June 11, 1951, William married Betty Cox Absher and together they had two children: William and Cheryl.

The family resides in McKinney. He was a retired employee of the American Red Cross.

He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who belonged to the First Baptist Church in McKinney. Additionally, he served on the boards of both McKinney Chamber of Commerce and McKinney United Way.

He was predeceased by his parents. Survived by his daughter Deirdre Absher and siblings Will Ervin and Jason Absher; sisters Nancy England and Sue Lovelace; along with nieces and nephews; he will be greatly missed by friends and family alike.
