Daniel gets his name from the Book of Daniel, where it refers to an individual who was able to interpret King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream which had been written on the wall. Following Daniel’s interpretation, Nebuchadnezzar promoted Daniel and three of his fellow countrymen into positions of authority within Babylon.

Professional Career

Borgia has taught at Nichols since 2001, as well as multiple universities both domestically and abroad in both China. He is a prolific author with multiple peer-reviewed papers, presentations and conference proceedings to his name.

Borgia and Jia, who was born in China, own a home in Tangshan in northern China where they spend much time traveling with their teenage son. He holds three degrees – PhD from Kent State University; MBA from Gannon University; and BS from Cornell University – which they use frequently during family trips together.

He oversees the development and management of academic programs for Bryant’s Zhuhai campus, which opened its doors in September 2015. This four-year undergraduate program mirrors Bryant’s nationally renowned curriculum vigor and faculty quality. Furthermore, he has extensive international teaching experience; one year in China as a Fulbright scholar as well as six years with Copenhagen Business School’s International Summer University Program’s Ningbo, China campus.

He oversees all aspects of academic leadership on campus. Additionally, he is a faculty member at Rhode Island College as well as its founding Director for Chinese Studies.
