At Kaye Scholer, Alonso worked on high-profile cases for the United States Attorney’s Office, prosecuting public corruption, labor racketeering and financial crimes. As part of his team that successfully brought down “Wolf of Wall Street” Jordan Belfort as part of Operation Wolf of Wall Street; Alonso led investigations into Bank of New York and New York Racing Association as well.
Alonso’s passion lies in design and hospitality, so in 2012 he founded Chicago-based Bonhomme Group to create dining and drinking establishments with unique charm using items repurposed from across Europe and Asia.
Alonso led the transformation at Weill Cornell Medical College into the mid 1990s that introduced an integrated curriculum of basic and clinical sciences, problem-based learning techniques, office-based preceptorships, as well as primary care and doctoring courses.
