Alton Police Department Receives Recognition From Law Enforcement Recognition Program

The Alton Police Department is one of the few law enforcement agencies in Hidalgo County to have received recognition from the Texas Police Chiefs Association’s Law Enforcement Recognition Program. The program, which is voluntary, highlights the best practices for law enforcement agencies in the state, with the goal of improving the way they provide service, reduce risks, and protect individual rights. This distinction was first awarded to Alton Police Department in Hidalgo county.

The Alton Police Department’s mission is to provide professional law enforcement services for residents and visitors to the city. The officers of the Alton Police Department are committed to providing exceptional customer service and enhancing the quality of life for the entire community. To this end, the Alton Police Department employs more than 70 officers, and they are fully-trained to respond to a variety of situations and emergencies. This includes responding to domestic violence, drug and alcohol crimes, and various other crimes that threaten the safety and well-being of the community.
