Alessia Cara, Giambattista Valli, and Jewels at the Met Gala
Whether you were lucky enough to attend the Met Gala in person or you have been following it on social media, there were a few looks that stood out from the rest. These looks included a gorgeous Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown, an intricate flower crown, and beautiful jewels.
Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown
Known for his couture and ready-to-wear creations, Giambattista Valli’s recent show was a low key affair. His ensembles were all over tulle and florals. This collection was a reminder of the beauty of simplicity.
The best part about the Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown for Alessia Cara is that the gown is on brand. She is wearing a black and white tulle dress adorned with a rainbow colored stripe and accessorized with a pair of Harry Koltar earrings. The dress is from the brand’s spring/summer 2019 collection. Alessia Cara was on hand to attend the annual Met Gala in New York City. The gala is an annual fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, held at the museum. The gala is hosted by Harry Styles.
The gimmick of the show was the balloon wall. A plethora of balloons adorned the backdrop of the show, resembling a futuristic landscape. The resulting collection was a mix of futuristic fabrics and designs, ranging from sheer tulle to multi-layered tulle skirts. Several looks featured feather embellishments, including one that boasted the tallest feather tinsel around.
