True Blood Characters – Alcide Herveaux
In the HBO original series True Blood, Alcide Herveaux is a werewolf who is ordered by Eric Northman to protect Sookie Stackhouse. Alcide is plagued by a number of issues, including his ex-pack, his crazy ex-fiancee Debbie and many more. After Sookie kills Debbie, Alcide becomes her love interest. Alcide is French for “strong man” and its name comes from Greek. Joe Manganiello plays Alcide. Robert Patrick is most well-known for his roles in Terminator 2: Judgment Day and The X-Files.
While Chase Morgan thought she was over Eric Northman, her boyfriends, and now her family have moved to a town with werewolves, and Alcide has to help them. His father forced him out of the Jackson pack and has a family to support. Alcide, the son of the new Alpha, is able to perform the job. He falls in love with the father of his new alpha, and she falls for him as well.
Alcide was previously in a relationship with Debbie Pelt before joining the pack. She left him just before the events at Club Dead. Debbie is marrying Cooter, the leader of the Jackson werewolves. Alcide became interested in Sookie and eventually went to Sookie’s house to protect her. He even takes her to Lou Pine’s bar to protect her from Gus. Gus tries to make Sookie feel guilty when he visits her.
Alcide and Sookie Stackhouse begin a relationship in the sixth season. But in Season 7, he is killed while trying to save Sookie. Alcide was born to Jackson Herveaux, a werewolf packmaster in Jackson, Mississippi. Janice was his sister. As a youngster, Alcide was initiated into the Jackson pack, but eventually left the pack because he preferred living as a lone wolf.
