Adame Orthodontics
Adame Orthodontics
Orthodontic treatment can improve both the appearance and health of your teeth and jaws, as well as help to maintain overall dental wellbeing. Furthermore, orthodontics can prevent further problems such as gum disease and bone loss in future years.
Adame orthodontics is an established provider of orthodontic care in Edinburg and Harlingen. With offices located throughout Rio Grande Valley, Adame orthodontics provides high quality service.
Early Life and Education
As a general guideline, children should receive their first orthodontic evaluation around age 7. Although early evaluation doesn’t necessarily equal early treatment, early evaluation can prove useful in several ways.
Children typically outgrow their sucking reflex between 2 and 4, but if it persists later it could put excessive pressure on the front teeth, leading to them protruding or crowding as well as a potentially bad bite that strains jaw muscles.
Adame, originally from Donna High School in Rio Grande Valley, attended University of Texas Austin for his undergraduate degree before enrolling at University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio to earn his DDS and Masters in Orthodontics degrees.
Professional Career
Orthodontic specialists typically invest over ten years into their education and training. This involves four years of undergraduate college study, four years of dental school training and an additional two to three year residency. Prospective orthodontists must pass a stringent national board exam in order to become licensed or certified orthodontists.
Orthodontists typically operate their practices like small businesses. They hire staff members to oversee daily management and upkeep of the practice, with these specialists often employing staff exclusively for this job.
