Adam Severson – Nebraska Region Manager and Co-Owner of Grossenburg Implement

Adam Severson serves as Baker Donelson’s Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer. In this capacity, he directs all business development and marketing efforts at the Firm while working alongside lawyers and professional staff to maintain client focus, increase market awareness, facilitate cross-office collaborations and facilitate cross-practice cooperation. Early Life and Education

Adam Severson is the Nebraska Region Manager and Co-Owner of Grossenburg Implement, a John Deere dealership with six locations across Nebraska and South Dakota. Born and raised in Winner, South Dakota – Adam graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agri-Business from University of South Dakota Brookings.

He attended and graduated from the University of Colorado Law School in 2011. As a Colorado licensed attorney, he has represented asylum seekers applying to UN High Commission for Refugees for protection in Egypt and Thailand.

Leo is survived by his wife Cheryle of Pierpont, SD; 3 daughters: Tammet (Daniel) Jerrow from Colorado Springs; Valarie Linnane-Lund from Preston MN and Larane Severson of Langford SD; 20 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews who mourn his passing. Unfortunately he was predeceased by both of his parents.

Professional Career

Adam Severson serves as Baker Donelson’s Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer, working closely with lawyers and professional staff to enhance client focus, increase marketplace awareness, facilitate cross-office/cross-practice collaboration and facilitate cross-office/cross-practice collaboration. Adam has become a nationally-recognized speaker and leader within legal marketing industry.

He emphasizes the significance of open and effective communication with clients, emphasizing strong relationships while aligning firm business development efforts with client priorities. Additionally, he advises on strategic planning and implementation processes.

He currently acts as Special Counsel with the Firm’s Bankruptcy/Creditors’ Rights and Financial Services Litigation Practice Groups, representing automotive finance companies and mortgage lenders in consumer bankruptcy cases, such as all aspects of Chapter 7 and 13 proceedings.

With Ladene Case Severson they have two children; Kolsyn (born April 8, 2018) and McKenna (born November 2, 2017) both born at Sioux Falls residence while they own their dog Zoey as part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints membership.

Personal Life

Adam Severson is an active volunteer in community youth sports. Additionally, he enjoys golfing and traveling with his family. Adam currently resides in Wayne, Nebraska with his wife and three children and serves on the board of State Nebraska Bank & Trust and Grossenburg Implement – John Deere dealerships with locations in both Nebraska and South Dakota.

At Baker Donelson, he serves as Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer; prior to this role he held similar posts at Faegre & Benson LLP and Dorsey & Whitney LLP. A Fellow in the College of Law Practice Management and 2020 Legal Marketing Association Hall of Fame Inductee, he has also previously worked for Thomson Corp.

Severson was found to be more conservative than his colleagues according to a recent study on state supreme court justices’ political affiliation.
