Adam Henning Joins WHBQ Memphis As News Director

Adam Henning is an accountant with experience working with small businesses. He is a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and provides clients with bookkeeping, tax planning, and preparation, as well as payroll services. He also assists with business startups and helps streamline current accounting procedures.

In his latest role, Henning oversees news operations for the Cox Media Group Fox affiliate WHBQ Memphis (DMA 51), and leads the team that delivers daily and breaking news to serve the community and grow ratings. He previously served as news director at WCJB Gainesville, Fla.; WNCT Greenville, N.C.; and WAFF Huntsville, Ala.

Henning is in his fourth season as head women’s tennis coach and assistant director of athletic development/marketing and communications at SMSU. He earned both his undergraduate and master’s degrees from the university. During his time as an undergraduate student, Henning interned with the SMSU athletic department and Marshall A’s amateur baseball team. In addition, he has worked as a box-office intern with the Sioux Falls Pheasants and Marshall Stampede hockey teams. He and his wife Greta live in Marshall.
