Adam Gulley, Investment Advisor at Edward Jones

Adam Gulley of Tacoma is an investment advisor who has worked in the financial industry for nine years. He passed the Series 66 examination and is registered to provide securities advice in Washington state.

The circuit court held a hearing on July 20, and Gulley’s continued participation could potentially undermine decisions made by the quorum court and leave them vulnerable to challenge. The parliamentarian testified as such.

Early Life and Education

Adam Gulley was born on November 8, 1940 to Henry and Mattie Gulley, both coal miners. Following the death of his mother in the early 1950s, Adam moved with his father Henry to Chicago. While at Urbana-Champaign he befriended author Saul Bellow before becoming a newspaper editor and public relations specialist before eventually becoming an investment advisor with Edward Jones. Adam currently resides in Tacoma Washington.

Professional Career

Gulley worked with global brands and executed multimillion-dollar campaigns for both The Dan Patrick Show and Emmy Award-nominated Rich Eisen Show, managing both shows’ mobile applications, websites and content strategy to generate revenue-generating strategies.

He joined the University of Washington as Associate Athletic Director for Content Strategy in 2021 and is responsible for all aspects of content production and implementation for their National Individual League strategy.

Adam has been racing motocross for over a decade. He has been supported by SourceMX Graphics, JW Cycles, Yoshimura and M2R as a racer. Adam currently competes in Double Vision Racing’s midsize stock expert/pro class at Ponca City Loretta Lynn’s and AMA Arenacross events – having competed as part of Double Vision Racing for Double Vision Racing for over 12 years now!

Achievement and Honors

Steve Gulley hails from a musical family with deep ties to Bluegrass music. Steve continues this legacy performing with Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver as well as founding Bluegrass groups Mountain Heart and Grasstowne and regularly appearing at Renfro Valley.

He played offensive/defensive lineman/linebacker for Berkshire School in 2021, being named All-NEPSAC Class B Lineman of the Year as well as earning several college awards.

Cumberland men’s athletes recently earned the TranSouth Scholar-Athletes recognition: seniors JP Aparacio, Lucas Daugherty, Idris Dosky and Adam Gulley were honored. Additionally, junior Michael Michailidis, Yue Wang and Carson Gulley as well as sophomores Jeremy McClure Jason Miller and David Morgan earned this recognition by maintaining an average cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

Personal Life

Adam enjoys listening to Radiohead, Wilco and Audioslave music as well as watching Seinfeld and Family Guy on TV; reading and participating in sports are his passions as well.

He is an ardent supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals and a passionate traveler; having visited Norway through CISV; London to see Rachel study abroad; Moscow, St Petersburg, and Paris as part of his family trip; in his free time he enjoys playing with his dog and reading books by Saul Bellow; part two of this profile will focus on both collegiate and professional endeavors later in the issue.
