Adam Ghander is a partner at global law firm DLA Piper and an expert in mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, corporate governance issues and corporate compliance matters.
He regularly advises strategic acquirers, private equity and venture sponsors, emerging companies and officers and directors in major corporate transactions on business matters. He has successfully guided acquirers and targets through auction processes, structured earn outs and valuation adjustments as well as counseled on fiduciary responsibilities surrounding significant corporate deals.
Early Life and Education
Ghander is an award-winning poet, novelist and translator. His 2018 Pulitzer Prize-winning collection Be With explores issues of intimacy and profound loss as well as climate change, environmental stewardship and humankind’s role in the Anthropocene. Additionally, he has written Cloudland Revisited (with comic-book aesthetics) and Yeasty (cult novel).
Ghander graduated with a BA from Brown University in 2001 with a major in literature. Since then, he has taught classes both there as well as at Harvard and Columbia universities. Today he works as a partner with DLA Piper’s Boston office as a partner – Massachusetts Lawyers magazine recently named him one of their “Go To” business lawyers with an estimated net worth of over $600,000. Ghander is also an active member of both the American Academy of Arts and Sciences as well as National Academy of Sciences.

Adam has guided acquirers & targets through auction processes while structuring earn outs & valuation adjustments & providing counsellor duties during significant corporate transactions.
Adam developed his love of nature from growing up in a rural environment. Now farming 2,000 acres of corn and soybeans alongside his Father in Northeast Missouri, Adam also provides hunting consulting to hunters in the Midwest; using his expertise of nature he assists clients with habitat improvement, food plot placement, tree stand placement and other needs.

Additionally, he serves on the board of directors of Boston Chapter of Associate for Corporate Growth as well as being an adjunct professor at Boston University School of Management.
Personal Life
Adam Ghander is an outdoors enthusiast. Born and raised on his family farm, he currently resides with Lauren and their two children Colton and Zaelyn. Adam enjoys hiking, camping and fishing; when not doing that he spends most of his free time riding motorcycle around North America or playing with Max (his dog). Adam found fulfillment by joining Ridge Meadows RCMP where he has served for 12 years now as an Inspector as part of their Integrated Homicide Investigation unit team – his passion.
